Climate
Bulgaria has moderate climate conditions, with cold winters and hot, dry summers. The average temperatures in winter are between -2o and 5o C, and in summer: 25o – 28o C. The sunny days in a year in Bulgaria are about 160 - 200. Running through the center of the country, Stara Planina influences Bulgaria’s weather conditions all along. The northern regions are cooler and receive more rain than the regions south of Stara Planina. Temperatures in specific parts of the country often go beyond 40 degrees Celsius, while remaining cooler along the seaside. The Mediterranean climate influences the weather conditions in Southern Bulgaria. All four seasons are well distinguished in the country, with a beautiful spring, hot summer, lovely warm fall and a chilly snowy winter.
